Sotomayor gets confirmed!

Al Franken, the Jr. Senator from Minnesota, announced the confirmation 68-31 yesterday. It was weird to see Al Franken doing that - I guess I am just used to seeing him on talk shows etc. Anyway her confirmation gives me, a regular dad, a person to hold up to my daughters and say, "Yes it is possible. You can achieve anything Mija." Sotamayor story is the American Dream. Daughter of imigrants from Puerto Rico, lived in the projects and now she has been confirmed to the highest group of Judges in this country. Pretty amazing anyway you slice it.

Obama, the GOP, and the Latino vote

I read this article today about how Obama's approval rating with Latinos is solid for obvious reasons. AND the GOP party is losing points with Latinos - which should also be obvious. Read the comments from "proud republicans" after this article. GOP blow hards, is it any wonder why you're losing points???!!!
